I was one of 11 raised in a devout Catholic family by my parents. My dad’s three brothers were all ordained priests, one a monsignor. We were taught to respect the Pope, our bishops and our local parish priests. And so we did. Not blindly, but faithfully. Then came the post-Vatican II parish gatherings to explain and ‘implement’ what the Council supposedly called for – to bring the faithful into a more ‘real’ union with the world. A secular world, not a Catholic one. Those sessions were fake, insipid and superfluous whose outcomes were predetermined and NOT what the actual Council documents exhorted us to love and strive for. My dad left those parish “sessions” deeply frustrated and angry, and mom would have to calm him down.
Those were ominous dark liberal clouds on a very bleak horizon. It was the late 1960’s and the river of priestly sexual abuse and nuns fleeing their convents was already in full flood throughout the Church in America. AND JUDAS WAS SILENT! Not just one American Judas but hundreds, all the way to the top! Each one covering for all the others
I must say the actual Vatican II documents, when read and reflected on, are profound and Holy Spirit inspired, which is why they were completely ignored by our Bishops, priests and the new ‘papacy’ – the radically liberated nuns and priests and the newly empowered liberal laity. As soon as this radical faction realized the documents of the Council were sound and faithful to the Magesterium and not what they agitated for, they came back from Rome ready to enact their agenda – and good orthodox Catholics slept like the Apostles in the Garden, blindsided and totally unprepared for the swift chaotic changes engulfing the Catholic Church in America. That, however, is not the main thrust of my reflections, but merely the background.
Catholic Charities, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and other Catholic NGO’s have been taking billions of our hard-earned tax dollars and secretly spending them on horrible, secular and deeply immoral initiatives and programs. From 2013 to 2022 CRS ALONE received 4.6 BILLION US taxpayer dollars. Massive amounts went to abortion and contraception services, sexual reorientation treatments and surgeries, and so much more that is untraceable and so repugnant to our Christian sense of Faith. Both CRS and Catholic Charities have allegedly been involved in illegal human trafficking, turning children over to adults with no legitimate proof as to the validity of the parentage of those adults. There is much to suggest the veracity of these accusations. This cries out to Heaven for justice. And the Judases were silent … until now!
I’m disgusted and ashamed as a faithful Catholic to have to write this and I’m soon done with it, with this article … not with my Catholic faith. I can respect the office and still despise the man! The American Bishops bring in upwards of $75 billion ANNUALLY! Much of it comes from the simple folks in the pew, blissfully yet sadly unaware of all these goings on. And now that our President cut off all federal funds to these NGO Judases, they decided to sue his administration. The Episcopal Judases subsequently got slammed by the judge. Yes Judas, the President can empty your trough.
These are the same full-fed princes of the Church who have approved paying out over $4 BILLION in legal settlements due to priestly sex abuse scandals, scandals that the Church KNEW about dating back to the 1950’s. Another $4 billion is estimated still to be paid out!
In full disclosure, Bishops and Cardinals have also been accused and convicted as sexual perverts, predators and pedophiles over these many years and the scandal our clergy have brought down on the Church is irreparable for decades to come, scandal that calls out to Heaven for justice.
Judas, you can be deprived of your 30 silver pieces, you traitor. Your excuse, first voiced by the original Judas Traitor, that “this money could be better used for the poor” is exposed to the world as greed and hypocrisy! Do not mistake me, my friends, Diligo ecclesiam. I love the Church, the Mystical Body of Jesus Christ and all those united in Him and I will never leave Holy Mother Church, but for now, my wallet is sealed tight on Sundays!
