I look beyond the stars, beyond the galaxies, beyond the light-years uncountable.
Farther, farther, farther – to the edges of space.
Back, back, – to the first tick of time. And You are there!
Already knowing, seeing – yes, even loving me!
Yet Mystery so sublime, though You are older than the hoary crags of time, You are ever now, ever new to me!
And must I travel so far in time and space?
The universe cannot contain You, yet the sacred chalice does, oh glorious Mystery! And into that infinite Abyss of love I place my entire life.
Yahweh, I know You are near.
Not just at my side, but within me, closer to me than I am to myself, dearer to me than my next breath or heart beat!
Jesu ufam tobie … Jesus, I trust in You!
